Plant Manager
Job details
Full job description
Looking for a Plant Manager to join our team in Calgary.
About Maple Steel Co.
Maple Steel Co. is an established manufacturing company with 25 locations spanning the Calgary–Edmonton corridor. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Calgary, our team of production and engineering staff serves customers across the region with the structure of a larger operator and the local presence of an independent.
About the role
You'll run the entire plant: owning safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance, leading production supervisors and support teams, and managing the site budget. You'll set the production schedule against demand, drive continuous improvement on the lines, keep the facility compliant with safety and environmental regulations, and make the call when equipment, staffing, or supply problems threaten the week's output. You'll develop your leadership team deliberately and report plant performance to senior management with numbers you stand behind.
What you'll bring
You bring years of plant leadership experience, a safety-first record you can point to, and the presence to lead from the floor as much as the office. You make prioritization calls quickly, develop supervisors into decision-makers, and hit commitments without burning out your teams.
We screen on fit and skill, not on perfect resumes. If you can do the work, we want to hear from you.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including managing supervisors or department heads
- Proven results on safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics at a plant or site level
- Experience with lean manufacturing and budget ownership
- Eligibility to work in Canada

- Leadership-development and executive-coaching budget
- Annual industry-conference attendance
- RRSP matching to 6%
- Four weeks paid vacation
